Myles is 22 years old and is a grade one
amateur player. He has been playing for about the past 11 years, starting in
Manitoba. He started playing out of general interest in the pipes and was the only
member of his family to play up until his brother started playing around a year and half
ago.
Before joining the Robert Malcolm Memorial Grade 2 Pipe Band,
Myles played with the Lord Selkirk Boy Scout Pipe Band from Winnipeg, Manitoba and the St.
Andrew's Society of Winneped Pipe Band.
Some of Myle's accomplishments in piping
include leading the Lord Selkirk Boy Scout Pipe Band as Pipe Major into the Juvenile
competition at the 2000 World Pipe Band Championships. Some solo accomplishments of
his include winning the grade one aggregate for the 2003/2004 BC Piper's Associatin
mini-gatherings, and many top 3 placings in grade one at games from Manitoba to BC to
Washington state. Myles is also an instructor for the Rober Malcolm Memorial Grade 5
Pipe Band.
Myle's plans to turn pro and play with a grade one pipe band in
the future.
